Derwahza ...The Arab Door |
|
|||
The Arab door or “Derwahza” is a unique symbol of ancient Arab architecture. These ancient doors are usually made from wood imported from India. The wood is beautifully carved in elaborate designs and are stained with bright natural colours to give an attractive look. The vertical slats of wood are supported by the brass or iron strips with studs. Most of the derwahzas are decorated with brass plates cut in a variety of geometrical shapes along with locks and latches. |
