The Muslims have two basic purposes of using prayer beads or “Misbaha” all over the world since the birth of Islam. The original purpose is to use it after performing the prayer ritual and secondary purpose is to keep the hands busy. It is often seen held by Muslims.
The most commonly used misbaha is made from wood of different varieties, plastic, precious or semi-precious stones or metal such as silver or gold. The misbaha contains 33 beads divided by 3 marker beads, first the starter or indicator bead and rest two the separator beads which divide 11 beads in 3 groups. The beads are used as counters 3 times around during saying 3 prayer statements.
